Adnan Hudainmuh.adnan.hudain@unm.ac.id
This research aims to analyze the role of campus sports facilities in increasing student motivation to exercise at the Faculty of Sports Science and Health (FIKK) Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Sports facilities are one of the important components in supporting students' physical activities in the campus environment. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method on 150 FIKK UNM students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability to measure the quality of sports facilities and the level of student motivation to exercise. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The research results show that campus sports facilities have a significant influence on student motivation to exercise with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.682 or 68.2%. Adequate, well-maintained, and easily accessible facilities have been proven to increase students' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to engage in regular sports activities. This research concludes that improving the quality and accessibility of campus sports facilities can be an effective strategy in encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle among students.
2025-12-03T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 SHOOTING: Journal of Sport, Health, and Educationhttp://139.180.223.195/index.php/shooting/article/view/3254Contribution Of Arm Muscle Strength and Hand-Eye Coordination Towards The Underard Passing Ability Of Students In Volleyball at UPT SDN Mangasa2025-12-02T14:59:16+08:00achmad karimachmad.karim@unm.ac.idSyahrul Zaumsyahrul.zaum@unm.ac.id
This research is descriptive. The objectives of this study were to determine whether arm muscle strength contributes to the underhand passing ability of volleyball students at the SPF Elementary School (UPT SPF) of Mangasa, Makassar, and to determine whether arm muscle strength and hand-eye coordination contribute to the underhand passing ability of volleyball students at the SPF Elementary School (UPT SPF) of Mangasa, Makassar. The population was all fifth-grade male students at the SPF Elementary School (UPT SPF) of Mangasa, Makassar. A sample size of 30 students was selected. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis.

The results showed that of the 30 students, the determination coefficient for arm strength to underhand passing ability reached 72.60%. The coefficient of determination for hand-eye coordination to underhand passing ability reached 72.10%. The coefficient of determination for arm strength and hand-eye coordination to underhand passing ability reached 79.50%.
2025-12-02T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 SHOOTING: Journal of Sport, Health, and Educationhttp://139.180.223.195/index.php/shooting/article/view/3260The Role of Physical Activity in Reducing Academic Stress among PJKR FIKK UNM Students2025-12-03T22:45:35+08:00Muhammad Sadzalimuhammad.sadzali@gmail.comIlham Azisilham.azis@unm.ac.id
Academic stress is one of the common problems experienced by students, including students majoring in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation (PJKR). Physical activity plays an important role in maintaining physical and mental health, including stress management. This study aims to analyse the relationship between physical activity levels and academic stress among PJKR students at the Faculty of Sports Science (FIKK), Makassar State University (UNM). The research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. A total of 120 students were selected using simple random sampling. The instruments used were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). The data were analysed using Pearson's correlation. The results showed a significant negative relationship between physical activity and academic stress (r = –0.46; p < 0.01), meaning that the higher the physical activity, the lower the level of academic stress. These findings emphasise the importance of promoting physical activity as a stress management strategy for PJKR students.
2025-12-04T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 SHOOTING: Journal of Sport, Health, and Educationhttp://139.180.223.195/index.php/shooting/article/view/3262Factors Influencing Student Interest Participating in Campus Sports Activities2025-12-04T18:43:00+08:00Andi Ihsanandi.ihsan@unm.ac.idAndi Muhammad Rizky Al Mufaridandimuhammadrizkyalmufarid@unm.ac.id
This study aimed to analyze the factors that influenced student interest in participating in campus sports activities at the Faculty of Sports Science and Health (FIKK), State University of Makassar (UNM). Student participation in campus sports activities was an important indicator in supporting character development, physical health, and academic achievement. The research method used was a quantitative approach with survey techniques using structured questionnaires distributed to 200 FIKK UNM students. Data analysis used descriptive statistical techniques and multiple regression to identify the dominant factors influencing student interest. The research results showed that there were five main factors that influenced student interest, namely intrinsic factors (personal motivation and health awareness), extrinsic factors (social support and sports facilities), academic factors (flexibility of lecture time), psychological factors (self-confidence and previous experience), and campus environment factors (accessibility and program availability). From the regression analysis results, intrinsic factors and sports facilities had the most significant influence on student interest with a coefficient of determination value of 67.3%. This study provided recommendations to the faculty to improve the quality of sports facilities, develop more varied sports programs, and create a campus environment that supported students' active lifestyles.
2025-12-04T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 SHOOTING: Journal of Sport, Health, and Educationhttp://139.180.223.195/index.php/shooting/article/view/3263The Effectiveness of Sports Student Activity Unit Programs in Improving Student-Athlete Achievement2025-12-04T18:48:15+08:00Silatul Rahmisilatul.rahmi@unm.ac.idSuriah Hanafisuriah.hanafi@unm.ac.id
This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of Sports Student Activity Unit (UKM) programs in improving student-athlete achievement at the Faculty of Sports Science and Health (FIKK) Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Sports UKM has a strategic role as a forum for coaching and developing student sports talents in higher education. This research uses a quantitative approach with an evaluative descriptive method on 120 student-athletes who actively participate in Sports UKM at FIKK UNM selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, structured interviews, achievement documentation, and field observations. The research instruments include aspects of training programs, facilities and infrastructure, coach quality, organizational management, and institutional support that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis uses descriptive percentage analysis and program effectiveness analysis with the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) model. The research results show that the Sports UKM program at FIKK UNM is in the effective category with an effectiveness percentage of 78.4%. The most effective component is coach quality with a percentage of 82.6%, while the component that needs improvement is facilities and infrastructure with a percentage of 71.3%. Student-athlete achievements show significant improvement with the acquisition of 45 medals in various regional and national championships over the past two years. This research concludes that the Sports UKM program makes a positive contribution to improving student-athlete achievement, but improvements are still needed in aspects of facilities and infrastructure and a more structured coaching system
2025-12-04T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 SHOOTING: Journal of Sport, Health, and Education
